Nurturing online during the pandemic: creating a safe base

With schools closed during another national lockdown due to the ongoing pandemic and most learning moving to online platforms, these new teaching and learning methods present a steep learning curve for all teachers and practitioners, not least those giving nurturing support to vulnerable pupils.

Bereavement Support for Schools in Aberdeen

Wednesday 2nd December 2020

Thanks to the support of the Aberdeenshire Voluntary Action Charity we are able to offer 30 schools within Aberdeen a free copy of The Bereavement Box.

Many schools will have pupils who have suffered a bereavement as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic and The Bereavement Box is especially designed for school staff working with children and young people from four to 18 years.

This resouce comes with a user manual and 60 practical and easy-to-use execises.

Bereavement support for schools across Scotland amid COVID-19

Thanks to Scottish Government Community Wellbeing Fund supported by STV Children’s Appeal we are again in a position to offer The Bereavement Box for FREE to Scottish schools.

Many schools will have pupils returning who have suffered a bereavement as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic and The Bereavement Box is especially designed for school staff working with children and young people from four to 18 years.

Bereavement support for schools in London with pupils affected by COVID-19

With the support of the National Lottery we are able to offer 200 schools within the London M25 ring a free copy of The Bereavement Box.

Designed specifically to support staff working with children and young people experiencing bereavement,this resource, described by Professor Barry Carpenter as “A sensation” comes with a user manual and 60 practical and easy-to-use execises for a range of ages.

Bereavement support for children and young people

As the tragedy of Covid-19 unfolds the death toll continues to rise, it won’t be long before everyone will know of someone who has died. Children and young people can be badly affected by loss and adults often don’t have the skills or courage to talk openly about it with them.

Nurtureuk has produced a specially edited version of their Bereavement Box that helps anyone supporting bereaved children and young people understand what they may be experiencing with helpful suggestions on approaches and exercises to help children cope better with their grief.
