IJNE Volume 7 – 2021

The International Journal of Nurture in Education (Volume 7)

We are delighted to present the seventh volume of the International Journal of Nurture in Education - the only journal solely dedicated to research on the nurturing approach. We are proud of the contributions made by our authors who provide an in-depth examination of different themes dear to nurture practitioners. All contributions are subject to peer review.

Topics that are covered in this volume include:

  • Eilidh Macpherson and Rita Phillips of Robert Gordon University report on Primary teachers’ experiences of the effectiveness of nurture groups on children’s social and emotional skills, academic attainment and behaviour.
  • Dr Susan Davis presents how to support quiet, shy and anxious children in the primary school using a targeted nurturing intervention programme called Special Me Time.
  • Tristan Middleton considers nurture in secondary schools and what recognition there is in OFSTED reports.
  • Dr Elena Kombou and Dr Helena Bunn discuss Nurture Groups and their Staff’s Resilience, and Experiences of Support and Implications for Practice.
  • Dr David Colley and Dr Ruth Seymour present an evidence based guide to opening a successful secondary school nurture group.
