Lorna Love

nurtureuk Consultant

Lorna has worked in Scottish Education for many years, as both a class teacher, across all stages from early years to upper primary, and as depute head within the senior leadership team. As the additional support needs coordinator, Lorna is responsible for ensuring that all pupils’ social, emotional and learning needs are addressed and appropriate support is provided. Through this role, she became involved in the development of nurture within the school, including supporting staff training, creating the nurture room, managing and leading nurture groups, sharing practice across other establishments, working with parents/carers and ensuring nurture principles were embraced by the whole school community.

Lorna has seen first hand the positive difference nurture groups make to children and young people and their families and she is keen to use her experience to help others embrace nurture and so improve the life chances of all our young people. Lorna is relishing this new opportunity working with nurtureuk as an associate.
