Nevada has been teaching for over 30 years and had been privileged to work with all ages from nursery to Y11 pupils. She has taught in primary, secondary and the East Sussex PRUs where she became assistant head. Working for the behaviour support service developed skills in working across a wide range of schools, with a variety of services and staff.
In 2002 she was part of the team introducing nurture classes to East Sussex, followed by running a nurture class and supporting behaviour in a primary school. She worked for an academy trust where she established nurture provision in all seven schools, supported behaviour and mental health. She remains passionate about nurture and the positive impact it can have for all ages.
Nevada is a Mental Health First Aid instructor, promotes mental health, the importance of talking and reducing stigma. She attends a pottery class where she is still learning and loves taking walks with her dog in the woods.
