SUMMARY:Inclusive Mainstream Fund: Developing your targeted support
DESCRIPTION:This free webinar unpicks the Department for Education’s guidance on inclusion bases\, how they align with the legacy of nurture groups\, and our best practices for creating supportive interventions that allow our most vulnerable pupils to thrive. \n\nThe context: The Inclusive Mainstream Fund\nThe Department for Education announced the Inclusive Mainstream Fund (IMF) for all mainstream primary and secondary schools in England back in February. Now we’re in the new school year and you should have received your fund allocation. So where do you start? \nThe IMF grant must be used on activity that makes your school more inclusive. Schools are required to explain how they’re using the fund to embed inclusive practice in an inclusion strategy which must be published on your school website by December 31. Your two pathways for allocating this fund are as follows: \n\nImproving the inclusivity of your universal practice\nDeveloping targeted evidence-based support.\n\n\nUsing the IMF on your targeted support\nThis webinar will focus on the targeted evidence-based support pathway. If you are confident that you have a well-established inclusive universal offer\, you are encouraged to use this fund to focus on meeting the needs of your most vulnerable pupils. This is where targeted support comes in. Small group interventions can provide the tailored support required to break down more complex barriers to learning affecting pupils with SEND or other additional needs. The Department for Education calls these inclusion bases. We call them nurture groups. \nBy either name\, we share the DfE’s vision for high-quality evidence-based interventions that help break down barriers to learning and support all pupils to participate and thrive in school and beyond. This free webinar will take you through how to develop your targeted support with nurture at the heart of it\, translating national expectations into everyday nurturing practice. \nMeet your webinar leads\n\nWendy Roden\, Education Content Manager\n\n\nClaire Wilson\, Training Delivery Manager\n\nThis webinar will be delivered by Wendy and Claire. Both have had long careers in schools and specifically in developing and supporting nurture groups. Claire has also co-created numerous brilliant resources you may heard of\, including Establishing a Secondary Nurture Group and The Importance of Snack Time in Nurturing Interventions. \nWendy and Claire are both experts at creating a safe and nurturing environment for all attendees to learn\, ask questions\, and share best practices. They can’t wait to meet you! \nTickets are limited so grab yours sooner rather than later! If you have registered for a spot but can no longer attend\, please let us know so that we can offer your space to someone else.
