I am really pleased to have the opportunity to be a trustee for education for nurtureuk.  I have been working with pupils with SEMH for 25 years, starting in a small mainstream village school where I worked with pupils with SEND.

Looking for a challenge I then moved into a 38-week SEMH provision.  It was here I developed my passion for working with pupils with emotional and behavioural difficulties.  It was clear to me that the priority for these pupils was to gain a solid foundation in their early development, ensuring positive growth in pupils’ emotional and educational development, so they could reach their full potential.

With this clear vision and practice of nurture groups I moved into SEMH day school provision, helping to set up a brand new primary school on these guidelines. I became Head of the primary school in 2011 which now caters for 75children and has been rated by Ofsted as Outstanding since March 2012.  In 2015 I took on an SEMH secondary school, which gave the opportunity for continuity of nurture provision from the primary school through to secondary.

I am now the Executive Head of both schools, which enables me to offer nurtureuk a working knowledge of whole school nurturing provision in both the primary and secondary sectors.
