Surrey Nurturing Schools Programme Network Event – Relationships matter: the importance of a safe base – 24th October 24

The classroom offers a safe base’ is one of the Six Principles of Nurture, and we believe that creating a school environment which feels safe both emotionally and physically is a key element in ensuring that children feel happy in school. How do you create space for pupils and staff to feel emotionally and physically safe in your setting? This term’s Networking and Development event will explore this topic and invite contributions from delegates from across the programme.

The event is free to attend, but delegates must register in advance.  Schools are welcome to send more than one delegate to attend the sessions. Each session will provide an opportunity for schools to share best practice and make connections across settings.

As an optional activity, we’ve put together a lesson plan for Primary settings and one for Secondary, to help you discuss this topic with your pupils.  These plans are also available under ‘Additional Resources’ via your dashboard our Online Learning Platform, Thinkific.
