Targeted Interventions

Targeted interventions that support pupils’ social and emotional skills and wellbeing

In the last year, we have worked with 40 multi-academy trusts to embed nurture in over 260 schools.

“I have witnessed first-hand the transformative power of the nurturing approach in our schools. Serving communities facing high levels of deprivation, our schools have become the central points of the communities, nurturing not just academic growth but the holistic wellbeing of our children, parents, and staff.”

James Roach

CEO of the Inclusive Multi Academy Trust

"This time last academic year we had made 15 Fixed Term Exclusions... so far this year we
have made none [...] this is down to staff understanding the behaviour more, caring more, being more nurturing and emotionally tuned in.”

“Working with nurtureuk these past few months, we have seen the impact of the programme in developing strong connections, ensuring our pupils feel not just safe, but genuinely heard. Developing an inclusive and nurturing culture is essential for the progress and future opportunities of our pupils. The [nurture] programme has helped in enhancing this culture in all our schools.”

Local Authority

Our team of expert trainers and consultants have worked across the education sector – in early years, primary, secondary and special schools, as well as in local authorities. We can work with you to develop county-wide strategies to support pupils’ wellbeing and school attendance while reducing behavioural issues and exclusions.

How nurture can help your Local Authority

We partner with many local authorities, virtual schools, educational services and violence reduction units to tackle escalating behavioural issues and mental health challenges in schools, whilst supporting the professional development and wellbeing of staff. By improving the capacity and confidence of educators to respond to diverse needs in schools, we help embed consistent evidence-based practices across your local area. We work in partnership with you to achieve your strategic vision.

“When I was at my maths and English, I was absolutely rubbish, didn’t do anything. Then when I started [the nurture group] they taught me stuff...and now I’m starting to learn.”

Nurture group pupil

“This child has gone from 15 minutes a day of timetabled learning to being in school full time. By providing trauma informed support and a range of wellbeing activities the child is now better able to cope with school.”

Wittersham Primary School

"I instantly saw a change in behaviour from my son, before it was a struggle to get him to school and he did not want to go. On weekends, he cannot wait to start school on Monday, as he said in his words: “Mummy I love school, I like learning.”

“I was previously told that he could not learn in a school environment and certainly not work unsupported, this has been proven to be untrue. Where school had previously felt unsafe the nurture provision has been an essential part of him settling in and being happy in a new school environment.”
