East Riding Nurture Programme

East Riding of Yorkshire Council, in a multi-year partnership with nurtureuk, has provided over 80 schools with a range of training, resources and support including:

• Boxall Profile®
• Whole-school nurture programmes
• Nurture group support

The programme was launched in East Riding in September of 2024 and was initially funded by the Delivering Better Value (DBV) in SEND – a Department for Education grant. East Riding of Yorkshire Council is the third local authority that nurtureuk are supporting under the DBV grant programme. The first is the Nurturing Solihull Programme and the second is the Nurturing Rutland Programme.

The main focus of this East Riding  nurture programme is ensuring better identification of social, emotional developmental needs using the Boxall Profile®.

Early results suggest an 800% increase in the number of pupils assessed in participating schools and by assessing more pupils, school staff are better able to identify and thus respond to their needs.
