Karen is a nurtureuk consultant who delivers the Theory and Practice of Nurture Groups training to which she brings her first hand knowledge and experience.
Karen has worked within the English education system for over 20 years teaching across the primary phase as well as 7 years as a Deputy Headteacher in a primary school, Currently Karen manages a local authority Behaviour Support team which is made up of Teachers and Teaching Assistants. A big part of this role is supporting primary and secondary settings to set up and maintain nurturing provisions. Importantly the role enables Karen the privilege of working closely with schools and young people to help to overcome social and emotional barriers to learning in an educational setting following nurture principles.
In her own time she enjoys spending time with her family, long dog walks and a good book.
