This session aims to give you a little more insight into how to use the Transition Tool Box.
We will give you some background information about the resource and give you an opportunity to consider some of the activity cards.
There is two individual sections that you can watch at your own pace. You will be given guidance as to when to pause or move on to the next section.
The first section will reflect on the theory and how that impacts the practice of the resource. We will look at what research tells us about the impact of transitions from Year 6 to Secondary school for pupils with SEN and more complex difficulties such as ASD for example.
The second section will discuss the Tool Box itself and how it aims to support school-based staff in both nurture group and classroom context in further developing their school culture and ethos in terms of promoting and ensure this effective transition.
