Education and Local Authorities

By equipping education professionals with evidence-based training and resources to support pupils' wellbeing, we help schools to improve behaviour, attendance and attainment, and reduce exclusions.

Our team of expert trainers and consultants have worked across the education sector – in early years, primary, secondary and special schools, as well as in local authorities and beyond. This extensive, first-hand experience – both as practitioners and as senior leaders – makes us uniquely equipped to support you with any type or size of project.

Assessing pupils’ needs

We can help your team – either small groups or the whole organisation – to understand and use the Boxall Profile®, to develop a whole-school approach to measuring pupils’ social, emotional and mental health needs.

Strategic planning

We can work with you to develop whole school or county-wide strategies for providing nurturing, effective support for pupils’ wellbeing, including strategies to prevent exclusions and encourage positive school engagement.

Adopting a whole-school approach to nurture

We can help you to embed the Six Principles of Nurture across all the stakeholders within your school, local authority or county to ensure that every pupil receives a consistently high level of support.

Setting up and running nurture groups

We can train education professionals to deliver nurture groups, to understand their theoretical basis in attachment theory and neuroscience, and to break down barriers to learning through targeted intervention. We offer this support to nurture group set-ups and hubs, as well as to individual schools.

Developing focused interventions

We can help you to implement smaller, targeted interventions that support pupils’ social and emotional skills and wellbeing, including mindfulness exercises, emotion coaching, support with transitions and bereavements, and tools to help them express thoughts and emotions.

Developing a bespoke, county-wide approach

Whether you want to address an area that’s been identified as needing improvement, or simply want to develop a more cohesive, inclusive approach to supporting pupils, our consultants will recommend steps to get you where you want to be, based on your specific needs and circumstances.

Training and consultancy for a multi-academy trust

We trained 15 schools within the trust to use the Boxall Profile® Online, and established links with feeder schools to ensure that pupils are supported as they move from primary to secondary schools. We also helped the trust’s senior leadership to better understand the needs of their pupils, so they can prioritise funding for the children and young people who are most in need.
